If you’ve been to my apartment, you’ll notice I have a bit of a thing — and by that i mean obsession– with a special shade of blue. You can call it Tiffany blue, Eggshell blue, turquoise, Robin Egg blue or even Martha blue. I don’t care. What you call it makes no difference to me as long as I can get my hands on something with that color.
When I was putting together an inspiration board to decorate my apartment I realized there was quite a lot of this blue and I tried my best to control myself so I added other shades of light blue. Well, now I’m rambling. The point is. I love the color and have put together a collage of items that can give your home a splash of my favorite shade of blue.

Because I’m over the age of 10 people look at me funny when, every year, I suggest a theme party for my birthday. Get over it, it will continue happening. I’ll keep looking for borderline acceptable theme parties that can be adapted for the adult world while still appeasing my Neverland ways.
Saddly, I’ll never be able to get away with an Ice Cream party, but I’ll definitely find an excuse to make this adorable cake in the future.
Isn’t it just too cute?
Find out more about this simple ice cream party here.
I’m going to start this off by admitting I’m not very big on sunglasses. I stick to the classic big black frames and rarely venture away unless it’s for a cheap & fun pair to get me through a sunny summer day.
But these, oh these, had me falling in love at first sight (pun not intended). They have a classic shape that I adore, but with some fun coloring that adds a splash of fun. Gimmee.
Buy them (for me) here.
Fell in love with this line of minimalistic jewelry by Beijing born Ximao Miao, Derek, who has an eye for the beautifully simplistic.
My favorite, by far, is the paper airplane. I want!!!!

I love design sponge’s “Living in…” series in which they go shopping to emulate a movie’s feel. My favorite, by far, is the post they did on Love Story. This perfectly curated list makes me want everything in the post.
This movie is definitely one of my favorites and I’ve never seen it once without crying like a baby.
Sometimes we scream. Sometimes we write things out. Sometimes we just go on out and say it. Most times we need to be a little more subtle about things.
Check out this gorgeously simple necklace from COATT that says things without being obvious by using Morse Code. This one says Love, but you can always get one that says Dandy, Amore, Swell, Lucky or a custom made one that says whatever you want.
Though subtlety isn’t my specialty, I want one.

I’m all for simplicity, and though having a studio apartment in NYC doesn’t allow me to buy things that aren’t EXTREMELY useful, I can definitely appreciate how useful this clever bowl is. It has a special compartment that hides waste, from pistachio shells or olive pits, from view. If only they made an extra large one for buffalo wings.
I thought I was cool. I was in on all the sample- sale sites before all of my friends. I was a Hautelook, Gilt, and Rue La La member before it was trendy (and before things ran out in the first two minutes.) I thought it was my own little secret, even though I knew millions were in on it, and that’s partly what made shopping on those sites so special. I was in on something. I was part of a shopping club.
Gilt has managed to make me feel out of the club. No, they haven’t kicked me out (can they do that?), but they have created an exclusive club within the club. Gilt Noir lets the top .01% of members get in on the sales 15 minutes before they start. They also get special perks. According to W Magazine’s Editor’s Blog:
Noir members will have access to special events, such as wine tastings at Christie’s, cooking classes with Waverly Inn chef John DeLucie and training sessions with the U.S. ski team in New Zealand.
Who’s in? Gwyneth Paltrow, the VP of Google Marissa Mayer and 1,800 others that spent more than $10,000 on Gilt Group in the past year.
This is the basic gist about the Noir card:
Get to sign in 15 minutes before the sale and see the items first
Special sale events:
the finest luxury labels
unrivaled access to emerging designers
custom-made couture clothing and jewelry
private dinners prepared by world-renowned chefs
getaways to secluded resorts
Special invitations to fashion shows, trunk shows and screenings.
Needless to say, I want in!
